Golf Courses

There are four championship golf courses within easy reach of the village of San Juan de los Terreros, the nearest being the newly opened Aguilion Golf Course (approx 5 mins). The others being the famous Desert Springs in Cuevas Del Amanzora (approx 25 mins), Valle del Este on Vera Cost (approx 25 mins) and the Marina Golf in Mojacar (approx 30 mins) AND a further 4 south of San Juan still within 1hr driving time.(Almerimar Golf, Playa Serena, La Envia and Alboran Golf.)

Having opened in 2008 this course has already proved to one of the hottest newcomers amongst all the courses in Spain. This Par 70 course has the Aguilón Mountains as its back drop with breathtaking views of Pulpí Bay and the overall design is spectacular incorporating more than 100 bunkers, 6 lakes and a number of natural ravines making it a challenging but unforgettable playing experience for players of all levels.

The first desert course in Europe has been built to the full USGA specifications and quality standards of the now famous desert courses of Arizona and California. There are superb views of the mountains around, and the desert terrain provides a totally different aspect to golf in this part of Spain. This is a Par 72 course

The golf course has been designed by José Canales, paying careful attention to every detail and integrating the course into the surrounding landscape by making use of indigenous vegetation. The course design and setting make it quite spectacular. The tees are particularly noteworthy, positioned on small raised platforms surrounded by volcanic rock, as well as the wide, generous fairways.

Opened in 2001 this course has two different landscapes, one facing the beach and the other the mountains. The player can enjoy stunning scenery of both mountains and the Mediterranean. Par 72 Course. 18 Holes.

Characterised by wide fairways, 9 lakes and greens defended by bunkers of impeccable design this par 72 is widely regarded as one of the flattest courses in Spain. The course is in excellent condition year-round. It has hosted several national circuit trials.

Opened in 1993, La Envia Golf Club is a desert oasis which was designed by Francisco Mendoza Montero. Located on a lake in a valley, between mountains and protected from the winds, the situation creates optimum conditions for golf. Over 5700m from the white tees, there are numerous bunkers and lakes which act as hazards. Palm trees, mimosa trees, agaves and many indigenous shrubs line each of the 18 holes, which are laid out in a irregular profile. The golf course is 15 minutes from Almeria. 18 HOLES, PAR 70

Designed by Ramón Espinosa, one of the most prestigious golf architects, it is a 18-hole par-72 Championship course.The designer successfully created an important balance between the holes, as regards both the length and the orientation and location of the various elements that make up the course (bunkers, streams, lakes, etc...), offering an enjoyable game of golf on a challenging course where each and every one of the holes will put us to the test. The course has 66 bunkers strategically placed around each hole, which means that the golfer will have to keep his wits about him at all times.
