VERA
Vera is capital of the area and has a superb bull ring still in use today. It is also of historic interest. In the main square there are several interesting buildings including, the Church de la Encarnacion (1520). Flanked by 4 great towers it was built as a fort to protect against frequent moorish attacks. Vera is a prosperous town with a great variety of shops and on Saturdays there is an amazing market that takes over the town. Vera waterpark is also open from May to September where children and adults can enjoy the fun of the waterslides and pools.
GARRUCHA
A small fishing village situated between Mojacar and Vera with palm tree lined promenade and beautiful marble balustrade running most of the length of the town. Its clean beaches and small port which includes the yacht marina are the main features of the town. Seafood lovers will love the local restaurants where all types of seafood are supplied by the local fishermen. The town is also famous for the quality of its large red prawns fished in the local waters. The town beach is the only blue flag town beach in Europe. Garrucha can be reached along the costal road from San Juan by a 15 min drive.

VILLARICOS

Villaricos is a small unspoilt fishing village both charming and tranquil and maintains a typical spanish feel. The village is located at the foot of the Sierra Almagrera Mountains. Its has 2 beaches one with an excellent Chiringuito (Beach Bar). There is a small market in the square every Sunday. Sample the Menu del Dia at the excellent restaurant El Mar La Mar.

MOJACAR

 

The romantic old town of Mojacar, perched on a hill steeped in history and culture with its narrow kasbah streets and courtyards, overlooks Mojacar playa and the blue mediternean sea, can be reached by a 30 min drive along the beautiful coastal road. MINI HOLLYWOOD

Presently there are three sites that are operated independently, that are open for visitors: the Oasys Theme Park, Fort Bravo and Western Leone. All of them offer a variety of the American Wild West attractions, some of them are still being used as film locations.It’s unique, beautiful and enigmatic landscapes provided the backdrops for historic legendary films such as 'A Fistful of Dollars', 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly', 'Indiana Jones', 'The last Crusade'….
